Our top tips to get the best out of Amazon Prime Day 2021

Amazon Prime Day Delivery

When is Prime Day 2021?

Amazon's Prime Day event is coming Monday 21st & Tuesday 22nd June 2021.

What is Prime Day?

Prime Day is a two-day event exclusively for Prime members; crazy deals and significant discounts are applied to many items for sale on Amazon's app and website.

Comparable to the Black Friday sales regarding the quality and quantity of the deals on offer, it's possible to make some drastic savings on sought-after gadgets, fashion items and more...

...However, it is worth noting that not all deals are what they seem.

Read on for our recommendations on what to do and what not to do during the Prime Day event this year.

Tips for Prime Day 2021

This is a great site for comparing Amazon's pricing history. Retailers sometimes inflate prices prior to a sale event in order for a discounted sale price to appear more appealing than it really is

  • Think about upcoming events (e.g. birthdays, Father's Day, etc) you may need to purchase a gift for

It could be worth making an early purchase for such an event and save yourself some money in the process. Once Prime Day has finished Amazon's prices will return to their previous Pre-Prime Day rates

  • Get yourself a free 30-day trial of Amazon Prime to reap the benefits of Prime Day (and qualify for free next-day delivery on thousands of items)

Go to to sign up - just remember to cancel the membership before the 30 day trial has expired if you don't want to keep it!

  • Download the Amazon app from the App Store or from Google Play

The Amazon app is handy for ensuring you don't miss an upcoming Lightning Deal (Lightning Deals are limited time deals, commonly only lasting for an hour or so)

Click 'Watch this deal' to receive an alert once the deal goes live. Keep an eye on your phone and grab a deal before it's gone!

  • Hold off on buying Amazon devices (Echo speakers, Kindle, Fire TV, etc) until Prime Day, as Amazon's own products tend to be discounted the most heavily

Our Echo speaker comes into its own when we're compiling our weekly shopping list!

"Alexa, add bread to my shopping list"

  • Buy something that you won't use and don't really need, just because "it's a bargain" !!

We've all done it......

  • Forget to cancel your Prime trial membership if you don't want to pay a subscription

Amazon will take a payment on day 31 of your membership, so be aware!

  • Assume Prime Day prices will be the cheapest around. Other retailers will be running similar sales around Prime Day in order to compete and may be offering better deals

Use to check, and don’t forget to try eBay either - it’s packed with retailers who may have better deals

  • Think it's a good deal if it's a bad product

Take a moment to consider the quality of that massively-discounted item before parting with your cash - is it worth spending a little more to get something that will stand the test of time or be better suited to your needs?

  • Browse without a list

Make yourself a list of things you actually want and stick to it. It's very easy to get sucked-in by time-sensitive offers you may regret purchasing later

Hopefully this list of tips and tricks will help you to make the most of Prime Day this year. See our other blog posts for more tech tips and handy advice.
